Selecting a Perfect Bra
The Perfect Bra

Drop the measuring tape, all you need is a mirror!

Did you know that switching to the right bra can make you look like you lost 5 pounds, almost 3 kilos? Women across the world vary in shape and in size. Therefore measuring yourself using the universal method of Bust Size – Band Size = Cup Size can often be less than perfect. A fundamental step of finding the right bra is to step in from of a mirror once you’re wearing the bra size stated from above method.

Know the right bra when you see it. With these 5 tips you can tell if you’re wearing the right size by just looking in the mirror:
  1. The center bit (also called the gore) between the cups should lay flat between your breasts. It shouldn’t dig in or be too far away from the skin.
  2. The cups should be comfortable and your breasts should not spill out of the side (to make sure bend toward the floor and pull your breast tissue into the cup, stand up and look again for spillage).
  3. When you look at your profile in the mirror, your chest should be at a 90 degree angle from the floor when standing (there should not be any sagging).
  4. The bra band should be horizontal, just under your shoulder blades and you should be able to fit one finger between it and your skin.
  5. The straps should not leave red marks and you should also be able to slip one finger in.
Finding the perfect bra is really important. Not only visually (no more bulges and bumps and “double-boob syndrome”) but also medically. Did you know that the average weight of a woman’s breasts is approximately 8 kilos? That’s quite a bit, isn’t it? Therefore the primary function of a bra is to provide support. An ill-fitting bra is known to cause problems such as back pain, headaches, and reduced blood flow. So grab a bra from your drawer and go stand in front of that mirror.
