Fun things to try in your twenties!
If not now, then when?

Rather than the traditional resolution list of fad diets, breaking habits and promises that usually get broken, this year, create a list of new things to try—things that can be crossed off (or added to) as the year goes on. There’s one for each week of the year—most are free and all are easily achievable!

The crazy crafts:

Take a bus or train to a town, village or city that you’ve never visited. Just go to the station and get on the next one that comes in, or gatecrash a wedding! A little free-food and building conversations with strangers doesn’t hurt at all, right? You could also try making a scrapbook and attaching keepsakes. Or how about learning a new sport, joining a dance class, painting your hair crazy colors or getting a permanent tattoo? Going to an outdoor weekend music festival and sleep under the stars is something that is sure to blow your mind! Style tip- For these events, you could invest in some polka love to keep it casual.

The ‘Do It Yourself’ days:

Compliment a stranger, it will possibly make their day, or write handwritten letters for your friends or people you haven’t seen in a long time. Catch up with old mates. Maybe for a period of time, a week, a month or all year, only shop locally. Purchase free-range, ethical and fair-trade goods, buy from independent retailers, at farmer’s markets and give handcrafted creations as presents. The most important thing is, enjoy your own company! Go to a restaurant, movie alone. Treat yourself! Style tip: Since these events are more about interacting, why not wear bright, fancy colours and bold racerbacks?

Casual, but fun:

Take all old books and magazines to a local library for others to read. Write a note in the front of a book and leave in a public place for others to take on and enjoy and then they can do the same when they’ve finished, or take your camera with you for a whole day and capture everything and anything that takes your interest. How about taking a road trip? Pack a few necessities, take a map and set out on adventure with no set destination. You could also camp out—choose a time when the weather is good, take a barbeque set and sleeping bags and a portable radio. Or maybe write a list of everything you appreciate. Sometimes things can go unnoticed and it’s a great way of becoming more aware and then passing on the gratitude. Style tip: Lounge around in tank tops and flared dresses, it’s your chance to unleash your free spirit!

A litte too ambitious:

Try a new look—choose a new hairstyle or try wearing the same clothes in a different way. Revamp your wardrobe by yourself, or try a brand new water-based activity, water/jet skiing, surfing, canoeing, sailing, kayaking. You could also hold a mini movie festival at home. Invite your best friends, tell them to bring a movie they love and spend a whole afternoon and evening together curled up chatting, eating and drinking and sharing old favourites. Or this is the best! For one day, exchange your personalities with your friends! Behave like them, act like them, and vice versa! Style tip: These are more sporty activities, of course this is the time you need some ANIMAL prints!

All about discovering:

Think of a squad jam song and dance endlessly with your entire squad everytime the song plays, or discover a new form of art and practice it everyday, learn to play a new music instrument, or write a journal of all the crazy things you’ve done, and those that you wish to do. Make sure you do them all.

The beauty in simplicity:

Decorate your house/room as per the season. If it’s fall, you might want to give it a foggy look, with dry leaves and lit up candles in your room, and if it’s christmas, light it up with glitter lights and christmas trees! Take just 10rs from home. Buy something and sell it worth the double. Go on and forth until you make 1000rs. You can try this with your folks and trust me, nothing’s more fun than making a 1000 from 10!You could also try going to a random corner of a quiant town that has the least supply of electricity, carry candles and your favorite food item and enjoy giggling up under the stars with your favorite people. The last one goes…Sleep. Need I say more?
