Are the rains dampening your outdoor workouts?

If you love running outside or can’t help but getting wet while going to the gym, try out these 5 simple exercises that will keep you fit during the monsoons. They can be easily done at home without any equipment and will help you stay in great shape even in the rainy season. Get set go!

Push-Ups: Lie down on your stomach on the floor or a yoga mat. Now push your body upwards with your palms and toes touching the floor. Then come down and try to touch your chest as close to the floor as possible and then push up again. Do 20 reps. Jump Squats: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Lower and push your hips backwards keeping your back straight as if you are sitting on a chair. Then jump as high as you can and when you land, lower your body in a squat position. Repeat and do 20 reps. Plank: Get into a push up position on the floor. Now bend your elbows and rest your weight on your forearms. Your body should be in a straight line and the elbows should be beneath your shoulders. Hold on for about 30 seconds. Repeat thrice. High Knees: Stand in one position and bring your knees high up to your chest as fast as you can. Switch legs and use your abs while doing this workout. Repeat and do 30 reps. Burpees: Burpees are great as they don’t need any equipment and work your entire body. Start in a standing position with your feet a bit apart. Now, lower your body by squatting and placing your hands in front of you on the floor. Kick your legs back and come to a push up position. Then, raise your chest and kick your legs back to the original position. Stand up with your hands raised and jump to clap. Do about 15-20 reps. To start with, do these exercises slowly. It is important to practice the right form and maintain a good posture. You can always increase the intensity of the workout by gradually increasing the number of repetitions. Make sure to wear comfortable and supportive activewear, especially a good fitting sport bra.
